Kate Elizabeth Hallam - Joins Lifeis as an Ambassador to Lifeis Social Responsibility

 
  • Imagine a young girl from a small town in England, the one that loves music, arts and performance
  • Imagine that at the age of 14 this girl almost sacrifices her life to provide a bone marrow transplant to her older brother; later was honored with the U.K. House of Commons Bravery Award for donating  blood and bone-marrow to save the life of her brother
  • Imagine the same girl at the age of 16 accidentally contracting  meningitis – and by miracle (rather by excellent job done by doctors), recovering and with great determination writing her story and mail to film producers
  • Imagine that this girl was all of a sudden picked up and played the role of John Lennon’s girlfriend in a new movie?
  • And the same girl, having a 624 entry, was picked as a model for Top Gear – the prime BBC TV program about cars and driving?
  • At the age of  21 she wins 'The Looking good Style Contest' at Aintree race-course out of 700 people, winning a brand new Jaguar X-Type Estate worth 23,000 pounds
  • And the same girl was found 12 times on the cover of Britain's biggest-selling  Take A Break women's Magazine, as well as placed at the 4th in Miss England Contest, First place in Miss Commonwealth Charity and First place in Miss Great Britain Photogenic
And this not all – for such a nice young woman who is well below 30 years of age – Kate Elizabeth Hallam - whom we met at Lifeis Corporate responsibility Diwali celebration at the Spastics Society of Karnataka (SSK).
We had a chance to talk to Kate and explore in depth what were the reasons for her to come to SSK. In fact, it happens, that Kate’s vision and the life value somehow are in line with the Lifeis slogan: Changing Lives.
“I missed probably 5 years of my childhood… when I was 14 my brother was dying from leukemia, and they found that I was the perfect match with my bone marrow. Being only 14, and rather skinny, I need to accumulate a significant amount of bone marrow for my brother who was 13 years elder; it took more than 8 months. Than… you may imagine relief, feeling of pride and accomplishment, when after transplant I watched the tests showed that my bone marrow cells were eating Christian’s cancer cells… I was at the hospital – so I missed my school… and at the hospital, at the age of 14, I was seeing wonderful people suffering, they were less fortunate… passing away… and at that time it shocked me, but it inspired me to do charity work, so I said to me father – charity is for me…”

India's Brands Overwhelming China?

In our previous posts we discussed some issues regarding the Indian apparel industry, among which we said: “India is now emerging as one of the biggest world export centers in many fields, including automotive industry, electronics, and of course, apparels.” We do feel that little time will come and Indian brands, as well as merchandise, produced in India, will be globally recognized. SEVERAL international fashion brands such as Cadini,DKNY,Gant and Boggi Milano,which have been importing their entire merchandise for India,have started sourcing apparels locally to become more competitive and profitable in a booming market.
By shedding inhibitions towards sourcing from within the country,these brands can significantly cut down tax outgo and reduce production costs by about 20%,helping them to reduce prices and reach the market faster,say analysts.
Local sourcing will help companies do away with import duties,which are as high as 40% on apparels,and save on longer supply cycles,says Harminder Sahni,managing director of consultancy firm Wazir Advisors.Besides,they can either bring down prices or make extra margins equal to the amount of customs duty, he adds.

My Shirt says: "Made in India" as Part of Lifeis Style

Interview with Ravi Rajgopal,  Head, Product Procurement and Sourcing
At the end of August, the Indian Business Blog “Track In” published a note by Ravi Prakash “My Shirt says ‘Made in India’” . This is an abundance of notable information:
  1. Different attires for different occasions: 13% of Indians say that they wear similar clothing at work, social occasions etc compared to 40% of Chinese consumers.
  2. A family activity: 70% of us go shopping with family, and 74%, more than twice the average of China, say that shopping is the best way to spend time with family.
  3. Relatively high spending per person: Correspondents say that they spent around Rs. 8000 last year, which is comparatively high by Indian standards I would imagine.
  4. Quality Test: 50% of Indian consumers they can access the quality of the garment without knowing taking its cost into account.
  5. Foreign Brands: More than 50% of Indian said that foreign brands are of superior quality and value than local brands.
We interviewed Mr. Ravi Rajgopal,  Head, Lifeis Product Procurement and Sourcing, and asked him to share his thoughts: on these and other things; how our Lifeis business correlates, and where is Lifeis Style Brand that is being created.
It is common that the most of international travellers from India are buying cotton-washed trousers from GAP Inc. (Banana Republic)Tommy Hilfiger in the USA , by paying a very big price , when compared to the export price given to these brands for the products exported  from Indian exporters.  This was the sentiment when the Color Plus , was born in 1993. Revolutionary change into smart cottons was a complete overhaul of Indian market. The company introduced and maintains high quality standards and never compromises on them. Besides that, prices are reasonable for the quality given by the brand. Naturally, this and similar brands should come to the market and compete with international brands both in India and abroad. And it is happening now.
India has a very specific apparel market – this is defined by various cultures that differ all over: North, South, West and East – all of them have different taste for colors and dressing methods. The result is obvious – similar dressing patterns, colors and styles are of a very low percentage in India. Thus, an avid apparel designer is faced with a challenging task when thinking about a new brand: i.e. it is imperative to consider the overall market in India, crafting the range and colors accordingly. When looking at the market we have to note that at this time we have a number of superior domestic brands: Color Plus, Raymonds, Wills Lifestyle, Pantaloon Retail – just to name a few – who play a vital role; as well as numerous international players. However, in my thinking, the time is already coming when Indian domestic brands are being recognized internationally – and this is essentially due to their conscious quality policies.
Lifeis a new company and we are entering the Indian market completely understanding its  peculiarities, for among our designer team we have people who are able to pick up the most promising and trendy features of the market and satisfy it accordingly.
Talking about the market, I want to note that the average buying power of Indians has drastically increased over the years. About a decade ago, 35-40 years old people had the opportunity to shop often, access the brands. Nowadays, as we witness the changes in IT-industry, software, and the general fast pace of Indian economy – just this latest news ‘July factory output beats expectations’ – brings new expectations – and adds to the fact that the buying power starts at the age group of 23 and onwards.
Media and advertising play now an important role in life of Indians. The consumers are becoming more and more brand aware; and they spend on clothing more than before; thus, the average lifetime of the clothes in India becomes shorter – consequently – the clothes' market is drastically expanding. It is noteworthy to note, that in many cases the quality standards of Indian clothes are better that some of the foreign brands, but extensive advertising campaigns and the inherent human quality to show off, result in preference for foreign brands. However, here lies one huge obstacle – price. Thus, international brands are not able to capture the middle class market which is now being cautiously tapped by groups like Pantaloon, Reliance, etc.
To add more to the situation, new problems are eminent: increase in the price of cotton, yarn manufacturing, garment making, etc. Though, the most prominent one is the retail spacing. Indeed, its high price directly affects the cost of products, and as the result, the brands are being sold at excessive values. And here comes Lifeis with its Direct Selling Concept.  Quality is the Mantra of our business – and at the same time we avoid all associated expenses: retail spacing, distributor margins, retail margins, etc., providing the quality product at a very competitive price.

Lifeis Succsess Story - the Beginning

Corporate policy of our company envisions one very important attribute: we Do care about people and we strive to help them in life. With this post, we are starting a series where we will share with our readers the life stories of our members. Indeed, what is better than to learn of someone’s experience how to become successful in life?
Here is a magnificent example of a young Indian man who found himself in Direct Selling business. His name is Mr. Imran Gove. And just a few years ago the inhabitants of Belgaum may have seen him patrolling the street. Coming from the family of Head Constable, Mr. Imran’s future was pre-determined: police training courses and spending his entire life as a constable, performing all usual odd jobs of a city cop. However, this was not the case. Being young and full of aspirations, he soon was strained with his everyday routine of a C-class employee. As every young man, he was thinking about better life, just to put it is plain straight words – to become rich! Quite naturally, Mr. Imran was looking around for any opportunities, which were right in front of him – personified in a friend, who introduced to him Direct Selling and MLM. Being curious in nature, he studied the subject and decided – this is a chance! Indeed, that type of business ideally suits young man who has limited cash reserves, but strong will, mind power and desire to obtain new skills.
Against the wish of his father, with many colleagues openly disapproving, Mr. Imran started his journey into new life. He took his leave and challenged his police friends: in three months, he will come to their office on a brand new FORD car. (In fact, he confesses, that this was something like a one-minute mind glitch – but there was no way back). Mr. Imran joins an established Indian MLM company and starts his quest, working hard and laboriously. And guess what: in three months he comes to his friends on a diamond white 8-lakh FORD FIESTA with a chauffeured driver!!! That was a total shock and awe – his life dream and first vehicle in life – in front of envious colleagues. These colleagues were not totally supportive: this is a one-time luck and in a couple of months, you will come back, penniless as usual!!! Nevertheless, the crucial decision was made, and Mr. Imran formally left the police. Leaving his colleagues, he promised: wait for some time… One small detail: when he was chauffeured in FORD car to the police officers’ Guest House (the place that he frequently guarded, as a plain constable), his roommate that did not recognize him saluted. No one can disagree that such small event boosts the ego and drives enthusiasm… And this enthusiasm paid well. Over two years Mr. Imran made good money – it would take 39 years of hard work at his previous job to make this! This tremendously improved his life quality and drastically changed the lifestyle. His father, despite two years still left in the Government service, had resigned and now lives a happy life, driving FORD! Work in Direct Selling business allowed Mr. Imran just in one week to earn the money that he would have in his previous life after one year of diligent service. Of course, new business was not very easy, but here - having an ultimate goal, patience and determination – unquestionably opens the road to success.
In January 2009 Mr. Imran left the MLM company that he was working in: there were too many questionable issues: it was clear that the company was short-lived, it had no future plans, no stability, and what was unbearable: bad attitude to its members, the attitude that was on the edge of hostility. For quite a while, Mr. Imran was looking for other opportunity – till the time he joined Lifeis.
As we meet at our office, Mr. Imran points: “Lifeis – is strong fantasy of people – this company has brought back my dream. Besides a great concept of a business, affordable to every person, Lifeis assembled a powerful management team, an impressive Advisory Board, and worked out sound customer relationship procedures. I analyzed all techniques offered, and I realize that we have an excellent opportunity to achieve good income without losing any penny. And what I like most: we are always welcome – there is a special friendly environment at the office, Lifeis employees always find time to listen to us, answer our questions, e-mails and just simply talk.”
We at Lifeis are really amazed with the business acumen of Mr. Imran – as the Team Head he has assembled a small but quality set of people.
Although it is about one month since Mr. Imran joined Lifeis, he is now on a decent way to success. As the proof of it – here is a short picture report of the recent Business Opportunity Presentation (BOP) that was held in Hubli. By the way it was conducted in Kannada – the language of 65% of the locals.
About 150 network leaders of Mr. Imran’s team were present. Director of Sales, Mr. S.P.Kumar explained the peculiarities of our work, stressing the re-purchase details and money management.
The first part was conducted in the hall, and the second – in the open air.
Here the people felt relaxed and very free and Mr. Santosh Thakur, Head-Training & Development, explained the secrets of team building.
We, at Lifeis are wishing Mr. Imran Gove to achieve his goal: to make his “Life Leadership” Team the top one in Lifeis, bring maximum sales – and we are quite sure that this will happen very soon.

LIFEIS: We Are the World… We Are the Children…

Like every respectable company, LIFEIS is committed to the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs; being a new entity, we are still defining the most applicable to our business and capabilities opportunities. We Are the World… We Are the Children… - this lyrics from the popular song touches every heart – and ours too…
We have reported in our earlier post on initiation of long-standing relationship with Indira Gandhi International Academy in Bangalore. It was very tough to leave these charming children, and many of us (though we declared this officially) decided to come back. And, true to our promise, we did came back!
It was last Sunday when LIFEIS made its first official visit – the visit that was meticulously prepared and planned. It coincided with the Independence Day – and this is very momentous – Independent India makes a lot to help its less fortunate neighbors to overcome their problems. Indira Gandhi International Academy is a vivid example of this. LIFEIS is very proud of this opportunity to show its involvement in international relief effort.

Ravi Puri, LIFEIS Chief Executive Officer addressed the children: LIFEIS, as to its nature, is the company with heart, and this heart is very sensitive to the needs and status of people. In our business, we are dealing everyday with grown-ups, but we always bear in mind that the man is always formed at his childhood – if being a child, he is confronted with the people who care, than the chances are high that all his life he will be caring, compassionate and attentive to other people. Thus, LIFEIS has a distinctive intention is not just to help once and forget them, but it is to teach and make them capable of helping others.” These words were applauded by all present, as Mr. Puri affirmed LIFEIS’ intention to frequently visit the Academy and try to help overcome its current hurdles of food. And not food only… At the time of our last visit, we noticed that many of the classrooms and halls would use some improved ventilation – so as the first commitment LIFEIS donated 32 fans, which were with gratitude accepted.

We also spent some time singing and dancing with children, watching their dance and song performances.
At the end of our visit we distributed chocolates and stationary.
We were happy to leave, for we noticed that our interaction with these deprived children brought some smiles to their faces – “keep a smile on your face, it’s so nice to be happy”

Advisory Board Members Share their Views in Lifeis BOP

Since the start of our pre-launch operation, the management and all employees of LIFEIS are actively involved in Business Opportunity Presentations (BOPs) that are, in general, conducted all over the Southern part of India. We have previously reported on some of them. While the members of our Team are doing their best in Yawatmal, Vardha and Davanagere, here we would like to report in detail on the event in Bangalore on this past Sunday.


This BOP was rather unusual; for it was the first time, we have invited some of the distinguished members of our Advisory Board: His Excellency Mr. Korn Dabbaransi, Former Deputy Prime Minister, Thailand; Shri M.V. Rajasekharan, Former Minister of Planning, Govt. of India and Dr. Anil K Khandelwal, Former Chairman, Bank of Baroda. In our view these people represent the cluster of knowledge in business and politics and well know the needs and desires of common people.


His Excellency Mr Korn Dabbaransi, is one of the most respected Politician of Thailand. Starting his political career in 1974 Mr Dabbaransi held various cabinet positions in Thai Government such as Minister of Industry, Minister of Energy, Minister of Public Health, Minister of Science and Technology and Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand. During his tenure as Minister of Industry Mr. Dabbaransi signed the first Free Trade Agreement between India and Thailand.

Shri. M.V. Rajasekharan is a former Member of Parliament and former Minister of State for Planning, Government for India serving directly under the advice and guidance of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. He is currently Member of the Upper House of the Karnataka State Legislature. In this capacity as a Member of the State Legislature, he is trying to serve the people of Karnataka, specially, the poor and the disadvantaged, with dedication and commitment to find solutions to their problems.


Dr. Anil Khandelwal, currently the Chairman, Baroda Pioneer Asset Management Company Limited, (a Joint Venture promoted by Pioneer Investments, Italy and Bank of Baroda), has been the Chairman and Managing Director of two Public Sector Banks viz Dena Bank and Bank of Baroda. His pioneering and innovative efforts in turning around Bank of Baroda earned him several awards, including the Asian Banker Lifetime Achievement Award for lifetime achievement in Financial Services by Asian Banker, which is the highest Award in the Banking industry in the Asia-Pacific and Gulf Region today and he is the first Indian to receive the award.

The event commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony by our Guests of Honors. His Excellency Mr. Korn Dabbaransi, Shri MV Rajasekharan and Dr. Anil Khandweldal shared their valuable thoughts on their association with the company and the future of this direct selling business in India. The speeches were truly inspiring for our more than 400 people who attended this event. It was followed by a detailed presentation made by the core team on the company, its product offerings and the Lifeis Hybrid DSA Compensation Plan.

We are planning more meetings of our valued customers with members of our Advisory Board – both within the scheduled BOPs and separately.

More Quality People on Board: Mr. Cornelis M. Keur


In our previous post we discussed the importance of the Advisory board for implementing corporate strategy of the company. We are working hard getting ready for the launch, and as such, our top Management interacts with distinguished public and businesspersons. Our focus now is to roll out effective operations in India, and we are very pleased that we have a new member of our Advisory Board -  Mr. Cornelis M. Keur.

It has been just some days that Mr. Keur has retired from the post of the Consul General of USA, Hyderabad. He is well known in the political world – Mr. Keur’s US Foreign Service career spans for 32 years (presently holds the Foreign Service Officer rank of Minister-Counselor). Prior to Hyderabad, he served most recently as the Senior State Department Adviser and Deputy Commandant for International Affairs of the Air Force campus of the National Defense University.  Most of his years with the Department of State were spent on various assignments in Asia, having served in India, China (3 tours), Japan, Thailand, Burma as well as Suriname and Yemen.  Hyderabad was Mr. Keur's second posting as a Consul General; he previously served four years as Consul General for Southwest China posted in Chengdu.  Prior to joining the Foreign Service, he completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer, served in Peace Corps Thailand and worked for an NGO in Laos. He has attended Trombly Trade School, the University of Michigan, Harvard University, and National Defense University. Mr. Keur was born in the Netherlands and raised in Detroit.  Mr. Keur speaks Chinese,Thai, Lao, and Dutch.

As you see, Mr. Keur’s  experience is of an enormous value to Lifeis, especially as it comes to getting advice on international operations; however, we all know that he  has a deep understanding of India and Indian people. While being based in Hyderabad, Mr. Keur showed a keen interest in everyday life and to a great extent facilitated business of multi-national companies in this Indian state. Lifeis salutes James With

In everyday business of any company we are often faced with new tasks and ideas that sometimes are outside everyday mission and routine business. Consequently, international practice has accepted a special vehicle for this – Advisory Board. Usually this is a group of individuals who bring unique knowledge and skills which complement the know-how and skills of the formal Board of Directors members. In fact,  Advisory Board, does not have formal authority to govern the organization, that is, the advisory cannot issue directives which must be followed. Instead, it makes recommendations and provides key information and materials that help to make decisions and conduct business in a better way.
We, at Lifeis, are well aware of major issues and challenges that are facing our business, so we have established an informal Advisory Board. The role of the Advisory Board is to be available to assist our management with general business and strategic planning advice upon request from time-to time. We are getting support on a wide range of issues that are relevant to Lifeis: sales, marketing, corporate partnerships, financing, technology, administration, industry trends, politics, international matters and more. The list of Board members is presented on our Web-site - most of them are well-known personalities and leaders in respective industries.
 This week we have a new member – the one who is well known to many movie-lovers all over the world:

James With – an Australian actor and businessman. Since graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in Perth, Australia, and having undertaken further studies at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney, James has acted in many diverse parts, as he has worked his way up to stardom. He was in "The Phantom" with Billy Zane and Catherine Zeta Jones, seen playing a British Fighter Pilot trying to save mankind in "Independence Day" with Will Smith, Sylvester Stallone has blown his preacher character to bits in the latest "Rambo", and Nicholas Cage scopes him out in "Bangkok Dangerous". James has lived for various lengths of time in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and the United States.
 
Mr. With continues to put his diverse wealth of life’s experience into his work as a producer and entertainment specialist. James has worked in the fields of investment banking and finance for international banks and investment firms, having also worked as a licensed securities dealer and financial investment advisor. Mr. With is currently developing a number of feature film projects through his flagship company TRI-US ENTERTAINMENT. Production facilities and locations are predominantly in Thailand and India. Through EXPLORE MEDIA GROUP the focus is on adding content to his extensive media library of his own specialized documentary programming, delivered in HD and 3D. TRI-US ENTERTAINMENT's new representative offices in Bangalore, India is currently focused on developing new HD and 3D content for the Indian market.

Lifeis CSR - A Start at Indira Gandhi International Academy

An important part of business life of every respectable company is the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. “As a worldwide industry existing in more than 150 countries with retail sales of $109 billion in 2006 and 58 million independent direct sellers, the direct selling industry takes its responsibility for good global citizenship very seriously. Our commitment to good citizenship is expressed in our giving back to people around the world and to the communities where we live and work. Four in five direct selling companies (82 percent) sponsor or support corporate social responsibility activities (CSR).” These are the words from “The Global Citizenship of the Direct Selling Industry” by World Federation of Direct Selling Associations. We do participate in direct selling industry, thus we consider CSR as integral part of our business strategy.
Helping less fortunate is an integral part of Earthstone Holdings, - the business endeavor that is managed by Lifeis Founder and Chairman, Mr. Pankaj N. Shah. Thus, CSR is integrated into our business strategy; Lifeis has worked out a number of CSR programs. Despite the pre-launch phase of our corporate development, we have already started some of them – and this Sunday we initiated a long-standing relationship with Indira Gandhi International Academy in Bangalore. We took opportunity to visit the Academy when they have celebrated 6-year old girl’s Birthday.
The Indira Gandhi International Academy was established in 1990 with the goal of provision of education to the children of Sri Lanka. Basically they stay for 10 months in a year; while many of them simply have no one to return to. Currently there are 350+ kids of various age (5 to 21), many of them are orphans or their families are misplaced with no chance to contact them.

First that surprised us was that all children are very nicely dressed in clean clothes, and the territory of Academy is well taken care of. Indeed, when I was told that we are going to visit a ‘refugee camp’ I was anticipating seeing some sort of slums – but this is not the case. This is a great achievement of the management of Academy. Of course, kids are kids, but I was ready to see dejected and depressed – but, once again, they seem to be happy.
We went over the dormitories and classrooms, participated in a birthday party, had lunch with the children, but what was the most stirring part – informal interaction.
One of us was revealing the secrets of cricket to boys,
while the others were singing and dancing…
We also chatted with one of the best graduates – A. Muralidhasan – a boy whose family location is unknown – and now he is facing all the cruelty of adult world. Lifeis decided to look into the future and try to arrange some opportunities for this talented boy.
Some of us donated cash, and the Management decided to help improve infrastructure of the classes – as soon as we can do this.

Jump from Empty Nest to Lifeis Friends' Circle

July is in its full swing and the usual time for young people to look for new life. Today I noticed in the Sunday “Times of India” a brief article that tackles the popular issue of family-life Empty Nest – how do the parents feel and what they should do when their offsprings leave home for better – “It’s empty nest times as children fly out”.  There is also a box with a short number of suggestions how to make patents’ life more vivid and brighter. Googling this theme shows that this problem is very acute for Indian families. So, we think that we may add a new item to these suggestions: Join Lifeis Family. Indeed, you would feel that you have found the whole bunch of friends and colleagues; and more: a respectable opportunity to make money. To make this happen, we are conducting Business Opportunity Presentations (BOPs) right near the places where you live.

On July 8 in the beautiful historic city of Pune one of the planned BOPs took place – and we may note – that was a success. In view of pre-launch activities, we received a great response from people of Pune; these were also joined by Leaders from Sangli, Kolhapur, Nashik and Mumbai. We had some quality leaders attending this session who have groups of 10,000 to 1,00,000 people in their existing network and the good news is that they all are part of us now.

The audience (and there was more than 200 people) asked a lot of questions and we were pleased to inform them in details on Lifeis’  background; day to day products with quality and pricing being the main focus; ISO certification; application to IDSA; and the volume and scope of ground work done before actual launch. It is our pleasure to note that 110 of the attendees joined our Family.  In this BOP we had demonstrated actual product (two packs of shirts, T-Shirts, bed sheets and suit piece). People were invited on the stage after the event to see the products displayed. Overall, it was a great event and enough for the Puneites to know that WE HAVE ARRIVED.

First Customer Contacts -- Business Opportunity Presentation

All companies that are involved in our business understand very well the importance of establishing a long and fertile relationship with their customers. And the decisive encounter in this is Business Opportunity Presentation (BOP). Going to the roots – what is this – here we have a definition of Business Opportunity from Businessdictionary.com : Ongoing opportunity to generate income as an independent representative of a network marketing company. So, we have to mobilize all the art of taking business knowledge, combining it with our faith in the Lifeis success, rolling it up, packaging it and presenting it to a room full of strangers as the must have business opportunity they have searched for unsuccessfully until today.  And this is your right and privilege to determine whether we are successful in our effort.
Being in the pre-launch phase, it is exactly the right time for Lifeis to start BOPs. And we did. The first practical endeavor was June 31 BPO in Bangalore.

Of course, we had a meticulous preparation activity that involved attraction of such heavyweight Indian professionals as Mr. Phani Bhushnan – whose personality development abilities are well known in the country; and Mr. Sahill Zaheer
More than 100 people assembled in the hall and they were briefed by Lifeis to management on all most important aspects of our business. And quite naturally, a number of listeners approached our managers for the Application forms – to become members of Lifeis family.

Lifeis Style - Targeted for International Success

Did you ever meet with the people who are committed to their job to the extent that they ‘burn’ themselves at the office? I did – these are the ones that work in the Lifeis team… Having a dedicated team work is an essential pre-requisite for success. In my Blog posts I would introduce the Lifeis team associates – I feel that will make understanding our business better.
This time I am starting with the core input to LifeisLifeis Style. One of the major idea generators at our team is Mr. Ravi Rajgopal, Head, Product Procurement and Sourcing. As you can see from his short CV, he is one of the top experts in the apparel and textile industry in the world. His proven business characteristics include imagination and creative talent; excellent time management skills and a capacity for hard work and long hours; perseverance and the ability to sell ideas to others; deep knowledge of  new materials, trims and manufacturers' practices. And yes, you can get this feeling of interaction with qualified professional the moment you step into his office. I met him the other day, just in time to see the first arrival of the batch of men’s shirts:
Mr. Ravi started explaining his life philosophy, which is actually one of the most fascinating business ideas that I have heard. “Lifeis Organic” concept relates to the notion that everyone is thinking about – how make the life healthier. “You are entitled to organic life” – says Mr. Ravi, -  that means that the present consumer world should and need to change, stop using all chemicals, dyes, additives that in reality affect your health, and in the end your life length. Ironically, the spiral development of society goes back to nature, trying to get rid of all substitutes that were developed in the last years. Initially, “Lifeis Organic” focuses on three areas: Apparel and Textiles; Food Products and Cosmetics. The pre-launch phase envisions now the first ones, i.e. Apparels and Textiles.
 It takes a very hard job to find, evaluate and pick up the right stuff for the raw material. All consumers are well aware of the shirts, innerwear and linen that become useless after 2 or 3 washes. The colors are fading,  fabrics are peeling, and generally speaking they tend to disintegrate.

“I was stunned by the shoddy quality of the shirts now being sold as compared to two years ago. The fabric used in the shirt is very cheap, and the buttons feel loose and sloppy.”this is the testimony of the customer at JC Penny. And this what Lifeis desires to avoid.
Thus, Mr. Ravi spends a lot of his time on the go, sourcing raw materials, finding appropriate vendors and testing selected fabrics.
